A Tribute to Jan-Martin

As many of you know, we lost our rock, our mentor, our fearless leader Jan-Martin Jensen, on February 10th of this year after his months-long battle with cancer.

There is without question, a giant hole in our collective hearts that can never be filled. We know many of you also had close working relationships and friendships with him. There is no doubt that we will feel the absence of his smile, his excitement, his uplifting chats and the incredible positivity that emanated from him as he greeted each one of you, while enjoying the fruits of his labor every year at Inferno Music Festival and Inferno Music Conference.

This is why we would like to give you all an opportunity to say good-bye to Jan-Martin in the best way we know how. By celebrating his life.

We invite you to join us at Salt on Wednesday, April 16th from 18:00 where we will have our usual delegate mingle. Kim Diaz Holm has created a very special painting in memory of Jan-Martin that we invite you to have your photo taken in front of. This way, he can be there with each one of you.

Anders Odden (Cadaver) will welcome us with a keynote speech. Anders actually founded the IMC together with Jan-Martin in 2006. At approximately 20:00, we will move to the big hall where we will begin the official Tribute to Jan-Martin..

We have a very special program lined up, including a performance from Kathrine Shepard, the visionary artist behind the evocative musical project SYLVAINE.

We want to invite each one of you to the stage who would like to share your favorite story or memory with Jan-Matin. Let’s remember what an absolutely powerful presence he was and that he would want us to still have a great time and retell the moments you treasure (and still laugh over). If you don’t feel comfortable coming up on stage to share a story, not to worry. Feel free to hang out afterwards and talk among yourselves. In addition, we will have a guest book we would love for you to sign that we will give to his children, Andrea and Simon, who will also be joining us for this event.

We will have an exclusive, very limited edition Jan-Martin t-shirt available for sale. Profits will go to the cancer research fund of his family’s choice, in the name of Inferno Music Conference. If t-shirts aren’t your thing and you would like to donate, we will provide you with details on how to do so.

This is not a “memorial service”. This is a celebration of life and a testimony and tribute to what an absolute rock star Jan-Martin is and always will be. He’s a legend and we will honor him as such. Gone, but never, EVER forgotten.

Please add your photos and video messages here, if you are unable to attend or feel more comfortable sharing your story here via video. We will be playing these throughout the evening.
