FAQ

ACCREDITATION
You can pick up your accreditation at the following times from the delegate area at The Hub. There will be signs showing you where that is. If you’re still unsure, just ask reception during your check in.

Wednesday 14:00 - 18:00
Thursday 10:30 - 15:30
Friday 10:30 - 15:30

As a IMC delegate it is preferrable if you can get your accreditation done in the conference area in the times listed above. However, if you arrive in the evening Thursday to Sunday, you can pick up your accreditation in Badstugata (the street on the left side of the Rockefeller entrance. Same building as Rockefeller between 15:30 - 22.30.

If you are arriving after 18:00 on Wednesday and would like to attend the delegate warm-up event and Tribute to Jan-Martin at Salt, please let us know and we will be sure to bring your accreditation with us so you can get it there, or have your name on a guest list.

FESTIVAL APP
We recommend downloading the app Broadcast Events for a full overview of both the festival and conference schedules. You can use it like any other festival app, saving the times and dates of your “must see” panels and gigs. You can also always view the conference schedule here and festival schedule here.

OSLO GARDEMOEN AIRPORT TO OSLO S (CENTRAL STATION)
Once you’ve passed through customs, follow the signs for the Trains (likely to your right once exiting).

The absolute quickest and easiest way to get to Oslo S is via Flytoget. This runs every 10 minutes from the airport and gets you directly to Oslo S in 19 minutes. The cost is 252 NOK one way.

The cheaper version of this is via commuter train. For this, you would want to download the Ruter# app. This takes 22 minutes and has one stop in between the airport and Oslo S. This runs every 20 minutes. The price for this is 129 NOK one way.

If you don’t like apps, you can of course buy physical tickets at the airport. This becomes trickier though when purchasing tickets for use in the city, so for that, you will need the app.

From Oslo S, it is a 3- 5 minute walk (depending on your stride) to Clarion Hotel The Hub. Google Maps, or your map app of choice is your friend here. Be sure to exit the train station via Jernbanetorget and you can basically see The Hub from there.

EASTER IN OSLO
Norwegians take their “red days”, or bank holidays VERY seriously. As such, most stores and shops will be closed on Thursday, April 17th, Friday, April 18th, Sunday, April 20th, and Monday, April 21st. Stores will be open regular hours on Wednesday, April 16th , and a half day on Saturday, April 19th.
Most restaurants, bars and small kiosks are open during these days, however, but always check opening hours to prevent disappointment.

There is a small grocery store just around the corner from the Hub that will be open 24/7 all throughout the Easter holidays, as well as a kiosk nearby. Some smaller shops will also be open for snacks and drinks in the train station.
Basically, be sure to come prepared or get what you want on Wednesday from the shops. Next opportunity for full shopping will be on Saturday until around 16:00.

WALKING AND TRANSPORTATION
Walking is definitely the easiest way to get everywhere you need to be in Oslo. Everything surrounding IMC / IMF is within a 10 – 15 minute walk. If you plan on venturing out and don’t feel like walking, download the Ruter# app for busses, trams and the underground. Taxis, Uber and Bolt are also all available in Oslo.

THE WEATHER
Springtime in Scandinavia is generally a bit unpredictable. As of now, it looks like on average it will be 15 C (around 60 F) in the day, and then going down to around 5 C in the evening (40 F). We highly recommend being prepared for rain; waterproof jacket should do the trick. For the most accurate forecast check www.yr.no

THE HUB
The official Inferno hotel is Clarion Hotel The Hub (Biskop Gunnerus gate 3, 0155 Oslo), located just a short walk from Oslo Central Station . If you have had your hotel arranged by us, you are staying at The Hub. If there are any issues with your room upon check in, please contact us. You will be asked to pay for any nights not already pre-paid upon check in, and also for a credit card hold for incidentals. Standard practice. Any incidentals are your cost. This means a bar tab you put on your room, food, mini-bar, etc. Please be honest about this when checking out

Breakfast at The Hub is definitely a highlight. We highly recommend getting up for this.
Monday, April 14th through  Monday, April 21st:
Breakfast will be served from 07:30 - 11:00, every day.
As the hotel will be quite full, it’s important to book your time in advance. The hotel reception will inform you how to do this.

All panels will be held in either Conference Room 1 (Central Park), Conference Room 2 (Frognerparken) or in The Hub Bar. This is also where the delegate check-in is, on the ground floor, just off the lobby.

The Hub hotel bar on the ground floor will be open until 03:00 (3am) every night with last call at 02:30 (2:30am).
