Black is the New Black

Fashion. Metal. Not two words that necessarily go hand in hand with each other. But these days, you have full-blown ad campaigns from companies like Liquid Death featuring commercials with black metal diapers to advertise their water or corpse paint tutorials for young girls in an all-pink bedroom. You’ve got Rap artists wearing metal shirts, Metallica shirts sold at H&M. Metal IS fashion.  You make a conscious decision each morning before putting on your favorite shirt about whether it’s going to be an Abbath’s face covering your entire torso kind of day or a low-key Dying Fetus kind of day. Denim or leather? Your style includes chunky jewelry, spikes and bullet belts, cargo pants and skinny jeans, New Rocks and Converse, Baphomet tattoos and piercings. Whether you want to admit it or own it..our community has a fashionable style all their own. Join our esteemed panelists as they explain how the two worlds of metal and fashion mesh into their careers. From sustainability and upcycling, custom stage gear, tattoos and body art as well as the current trends at the merch stands on tours across Europe. Join us to discuss how profitable (and fashionable) these two worlds can be.

And be sure to check out the Inferno Metal Fashion show at Goldie on Saturday at 14:30, hosted by RuPaul’s Drag Race Sweden winner Admira Thunderpussy. Here, we will highlight our panelists' work and some of the brilliant cast of characters that make sure that Oslo knows we are taking over this town every Easter.
