Join Frank Godla (US), Metal Injection, as he interviews Jenny Douglas (US), Touring Director at 5BAM, about her 18 years of experience as a Front of House Engineer and Tour Manager. Jenny has done all aspects of touring and provides a unique perspective on the inner workings of the touring music industry. Frank will delve into her experiences on the road with King Diamond, Mercyful Fate, Amon Amarth, Behemoth, Trivium, In This Moment, Walls of Jericho, Russian Circles, Stick to Your Guns, Napalm Death, Relient K, The Get Up Kids, New Found Glory, Chiodos, Terror, Comeback Kid, The Amity Affliction, Senses Fail, Saves the Day and discuss her current role as Touring Director at 5BAM.
 

5BAM is an artist management company with bands like Megadeth, Slipknot, Behemoth, Lamb of God, King Diamond, Amon Amarth, and more. On the event side, 5BAM organizes Knotfest in several countries around the world. Other mentionable events are Megacruise, Megadeth boot camp, and The Slaughter House.

Jenny Douglas (5BAM, US)

Jenny Douglas toured the World for 15 years as a Front of House Engineer and Tour Manager for various bands before settling in as the Touring Director at 5B Artists + Media. No stranger to hard work, she has done all aspects of touring including Production Management, merchandising, VIP Meet & Greets, marketing, art shows, video shoots, and social media. You can still find her occasionally behind the soundboard in Los Angeles or doing weekend warrior gigs. When she's not working in music, she enjoys riding motorcycles, traveling, coffee and eating delicious vegan food.

Mod: Frank Godla (Metal Injection, US)

With over 18 years of experience in the music industry, Frank Godla has paved the way of online media with his popular website Metal Injection. Wearing many hats including co-owner, host, and content director, he’s constantly innovating the way we connect with artists around the world from emerging talent to household names. He’s received many accolades with Metal Injection over the years including a win at the 2012 MTV O Music Awards in the “Beyond The Blog”  category for his docu-series, On The Record. In 2013, LA Weekly named Metal Injection one of the ten best websites for heavy metal, praising its original video content, appearances of modern artists and humor articles. It has also been listed by Ditto Music as one of the twenty influential music sites that support independent and new artists.

 

As a touring artist himself, Godla is also the creator and organizer of the Slay AT Home festival, which began in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Highlighting the best in underground arts as well as cover collaborations between renown artists, the free livestream runs every month in support of a new charity for each edition and has collectively earned several million views and over $200,000 in donations to date.
