Bullying is one of the most serious social challenges we face today. Every year it affects countless children, young people and adults, and for many the consequences can last a lifetime. In the worst cases, bullying contributes to severe mental health struggles and even loss of life.
In this talk, Leif shares his knowledge and experience from many years of working against bullying. He explains what bullying really is, how it affects people both in the short and long term, and why the consequences are often far more serious than many people realize.The lecture also focuses on solutions. Leif talks about what individuals, schools, workplaces and society can do to prevent bullying, support those who are affected, and create safer and more inclusive environments for everyone.

Leif Munkelien is the founder and managing director of Metalheads Against Bullying. He is a social entrepreneur and peer support worker dedicated to justice, inclusion, and ensuring that everyone feels valued and supported. Through his work he uses music, community, and lived experience to fight bullying and social exclusion. In 2025, he was awarded Volunteer of the Year in Norway for his commitment to helping others.
